Brief and Challenge
DubHacks undergoes a rebrand every year for the annual hackathon, except for the first time ever, DubHacks takes place completely online. Navigating these new difficulties forced us to reimagine what a hackathon could look like, and how to create a sense of fun, community and inclusivity online.
Previous Branding

Stage One Ideation
Keeping the color pink as a central part of DubHacks was important, but we wanted to steer the design in a different route this year, pushing for more experimentation We wanted to explore texture, dimensionality, and a dark theme in this initial stage. However, we decided that this route was too abstracted and aimed to go for a more simplified and representational route.

Moodboard
Thick lines, organic shapes, and fun characters served as our new inspiration.
Stage Two Ideation

Final Direction

Visual Language
Emojis created for the multiple assets, including the Notion Hacker Guide, slide decks, and website.
